Born and raised in South Texas, Johnny has called San Antonio home since 2003. With a foundation built in the bar and restaurant industry, he developed the leadership, resilience, and operational discipline that would later become central to his success in commercial real estate.

Since entering the industry in 2016, Johnny has established himself as a trusted expert in single-family development land acquisitions and national retail site selection. He has represented developers, national brands, and high-growth operators across the nation, guiding clients through complex transactions with clear strategy, deep market insight, and unwavering professionalism.

As Director of Commercial Real Estate at Homestead & Ranch, Johnny brings a forward-thinking, client-first approach to every assignment. He is known for his ability to identify opportunities early, navigate challenges decisively, and create long-term value for his clients and partners.

Ward was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. As a young man, he spent summers and weekends working on his family’s farms and ranches in Wilson County. He continues that family tradition today by raising cattle and farming the land. 

Ward lives in Poth, Texas, with his wife,Michelle, whom he has been married to for 35 years.

Ward’s experience spans civil engineering, surveying, architectural design, and construction. He has worked extensively on residential and commercial land development, utility projects, and warehouse developments. He is knowledgeable in building and development codes, including ADA requirements, and has managed projects from site selection and feasibility analysis to land acquisition and full site and building development. His surveying background also gives him a strong understanding of property boundaries, deeds, and topography.
